Why your PNG won't cut in CAD software

AutoCAD, VCarve, Carbide Create, and SignCut read vector paths, not pixels. Drop a PNG into a CAM tool and it either refuses to import or raster-engraves the whole rectangle. Vectorizing first gives the tool a precise outline to follow — cut strokes and engrave fills exactly where you want them.
